Class Summary

Leave class after 4 weeks with a perfect portrait gift for a loved one! This beginner friendly course is designed to give you the tools you need to start drawing portraits confidently. This class is perfect for people who have never drawn before, or those looking to get back into art after some time away!

Format

We will meet once a week on Saturdays from Nov. 22nd to December 21st (no class on November 30th). Each class begins with a live instructor demonstration followed by instructed drawing time for the rest of the class.

Syllabus

Week 1 Familiarizing ourselves with charcoal and our materials. Learning how to start a portrait.

Week 2 Intro to the basics of structural drawing.

Week 3 Intro to value and rendering.

Week 4 Finishing up our drawings and taking them home!
